Honeymoon or family vacation?

There are many choices when considering an all-inclusive. Adults only or family friendly? Looking for a resort than offers some honeymoon or anniversary perks? Standard king with a garden view or a luxury 2-bedroom swim out suite with an ocean view? Do you purchase extra excursions or stick with the free activities provided by the resort?

Where to go?

Mexico, Dominican Republic & Jamaica are typically your 3 most affordable choices for all-inclusive resorts. This isn't to say the resorts are cheap, but you can get the most bang for your buck here.

Turks & Caicos is regularly voted best beach in the Caribbean but is also one of the more expensive locations (don't worry I've got an inside tip on that 😉).

Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, St. Lucia and Bahamas are 3 other popular destinations for all-inclusive resorts. While the Caribbean & Mexico have the most abundant choices of all-inclusive resorts, there are options all over the world.

When to go?

The best time to visit the Caribbean is during its driest months, from February to May. But the Caribbean islands enjoy a hot, tropical climate all year round, with average highs of 82°F. The wettest period is between July and November, although the official hurricane season lasts from June to November.

The months of September to November can be a great time to plan a trip for those looking for the cheapest time to go to the Caribbean. The month of September is the very peak of hurricane season, making it one of the best times to find low prices at some of the most desirable inclusive resorts.

Brand Names

There are numerous companies that offer all-Inclusive resorts: Marriott, Hyatt, Barcelo & RIU are a few popular examples that are all great. I would like, however, to highlight two specific brands.

Sandals - known as a popular romantic honeymoon resort, Sandals is an adults-only resort geared towards couples. They pride themselves on being the only "true all-inclusive" out there. With resorts all over the Caribbean, they are worth a look. View below for a glimpse of Sandals & what they offer.

Club Med -This is the original all-inclusive resort. Founded in 1950, Club Med has evolved from a party resort to more family friendly collection. Turks & Caicos is adults only, but most are very family friendly. While they do have many Caribbean resorts, they boast some unique resorts in destinations that you might not necessarily think of as very all-inclusive-friendly. Brazil, Sicily, Africa, China, Greece and ski resorts in Canada and France are some of the options. Fun activities for kids such as tennis and great customer service makes this brand one worth checking out.
